Primary Landscape (2022)
It all began as a game. Looking through the window during this
17,672-mile commute from Philadelphia to New York City, observing
the same landscape over, and over again. I started to categorize in
my head the colors, the structures, the objects, among other things.
This game became a project.
Each week, with my phone I recorded a fraction of the scenes that passed me by from both sides of the train. Then, I watched the
videos on my laptop and selected the frames according to the
attributes I chose. With these frames, I created a chromatic collage
that encapsulates my journey of this transitional experience of
place.
